"Barbed wire and corrugated metal imagery abound on this Cold War inspired slice of paranoid electronica. UVB-76 is one of those peculiar radio stations that broadcast mysterious tones and voices 24 hours a day, in this instance since 1973, and the all electronic (gloomy) mood music here evokes that era of secretive mustard-hued government departments with its minimal synth lines. 'Berlin' features Carpenter-esque pulses while 'Counter Espionage' has a kind of library music spy appeal with its jaunty melody.
